Candidates applying for the Fireman ‘A’ post must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. The age of the applicant must be between 18 to 25 years as on the last date of application i.e., April 15, 2025. Since this vacancy is open only for the Unreserved (UR) category, no age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, or OBC candidates.

The ISRO VSSC Fireman Selection Process 2025 comprises four stages, each designed to test knowledge, physical readiness, and medical fitness. The process starts with a Written Examination to assess basic aptitude. Successful candidates will undergo a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) to check height, weight, and chest size (where applicable). Those who pass PMT will proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which simulates real fire-rescue tasks. Finally, a Medical Examination ensures the candidate is medically fit for duty.

For Male Candidates

• Height: Minimum 165 cm

• Weight: Minimum 50 kg

• Chest: 81 cm (normal), 86 cm (expanded) 

For Female Candidates

• Height: Minimum 153 cm

• Weight: Minimum 43 kg

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 

For Male Candidates

• Running: 1500 metres in 7 minutes

• Fireman’s Lift: Carry a 60 kg dummy for 25 metres in 60 seconds

• Long Jump: 3.8 metres (best of 3 attempts)

• 100 Metre Running: Within 15 seconds (Spiked shoes not allowed) 

For Female Candidates

• Running: 800 metres in 4 minutes

• Fireman’s Lift: Carry a 50 kg dummy for 25 metres in 75 seconds

• Long Jump: 3.5 metres (best of 3 attempts)

• 100 Metre Running: Within 17 seconds (Spiked shoes not allowed) 

ISRO VSSC Fireman Salary 2025

Selected candidates for the post of Fireman ‘A’ will receive a salary as per Pay Level-2, ranging from Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 in the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. In addition to the basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to allowances such as DA, HRA, TA, and other applicable central government benefits.
