CISF Constable Tradesman Educational Qualification 2025

The educational qualification for CISF Constable Tradesman position ensure that candidates possess the necessary academic background and technical skills required for the respective trades. the qualification vary depending on the specific role, as outline below. 

General Educational Qualification for All Posts:

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th standard) or its equivalent from a recognized board for skilled trades on or before closing date of receipt of online application. 

Trade-Specific Qualification:

Cook

  • 10th pass from a recognized board. 
  • Must have completed an National Skill Qualification Framework (NSFQ) Course in Food Production/Kitchen. 


Washerman, Sweeper, Washerman, Mali

  • 10th pass from a recognized board. 
    • Experience in the relevant field is preferred but not mandatory. 

    Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Welder, Tailor, Cobbler, Charge Mechanic

    • 10th pass + ITI certificate in the respective trade from a recognized institution. 
      • Practical experience is desirable. 

      Motor Pump Attendant (MP Attendant) 

      • 10th pass + ITI certificate in the respective trade from a recognized institution. 
        • Prior experience in operating and maintaining motor pumps is advantageous. 

        CISF Constable Tradesman Selection Process 2025

        The CISF Constable Tradesman Selection Process is a multi-stage assessment of Physical Fitness, skills and knowledge. It will begin with the Physical Standard Test (PST), which evaluates height, chest (for males), and weight, followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). After Document Verification (DV), candidates undergo a Trade Test to demonstrate job-specific skills. Those who qualify take a Written Exam, followed by a Medical Examination to ensure fitness for duty. Successful candidates are placed on the final merit list for selection.

        Stage 1: Physical Standard Test (PST)

        Candidates who qualify in the PET undergo the Physical Standard Test (PST) to check whether they meet the required height, chest (for male candidates only), and weigh standard as prescribed by CISF. 

        Height and Chest Measurement for Male Candidates

        • Height (UR,EWS,OBC,SC): 170 cms 
        • Chest (UR,EWS,OBC,SC): 80-85 cms (minimum expansion 5 cms) 
        • Height (ST): 162.5 cms 
        • Chest (ST): 76-81 cms (minimum expansion 5 cms) 

        Height Measurement for Female Candidates

        • Height (UR,EWS,OBC,SC): 157 cms 
        • Height (ST): 150 cms 

        Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

        The physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the first stage and is conducted to evaluate the candidate's physical endurance and stamina. Candidates must complete the following:

        • Male Candidates: 5 km race in 24 minutes 
        • Female Candidates: 1.6 km race in 8 minutes 30 second 

        Stage 3: Document Verification

        Candidates who pass the PET and PST must undergo Document Verification to confirm their eligibility. They must provide original and and valid documents, including:

        • Educational Certificates (10th Pass, ITI certificate for technical trades) 
        • Cast/Category Certificate 9if applicable) 
        • Domicile certificate 
        • Identity Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, DL, etc.) 

        Stage 4: Trade Test (Skill Test)

        The Trade Test is conducted for candidates who successfully clear the document verification stage. This test evaluates the practical skills and technical knowledge of the candidate in their chosen trade.

        • For Cook: Cooking test to assess food preparation, hygiene knowledge, and kitchen skills.
        • For Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Welder, Charge Mechanic, and other technical trades: Candidates must demonstrate practical skills, tool handling, and basic troubleshooting in their respective trades.
        • For Washerman, Barber, Mali, and other non-technical trades: Candidates must perform trade-related tasks as per CISF standards. 

        Stage 5: Written Examination

        Candidates who pass the Trade Test are invited to appear for the Written Examination. This test assesses the candidate’s general knowledge, reasoning ability, mathematics, and trade-specific knowledge
